Graphite Calla Lily

This is a pencil drawing on a painted plate based with a dry media ground. If you paint the surface then apply the ground, you can use any dry media such as graphite pencils or colored pencils or even pastel on the surface. The ground has a tooth that will accept the drawing media. Then, even though dry media will bleed with the application of varnish, we’ve found a way to protect the dry media allowing for the safe application of a couple of coats of varnish.

Download contains line drawing, photos, some copy and access to a video. Most of the drawing instructions are contained through the enclosed video link. Painted background is Jo Sonja paint.

Pears With Birdhouse
